Going full-time with VISIT VILLEGAS
On January 20, 2023, I was let go from my job as a Marketing Coordinator. An out of the blue- splash of reality hit. They said, that I had done nothing wrong they just no longer needed my position.
A mix of confusion, embarrassment, relief and then… I was scared.
“How will we pay our bills?” was consistently on my mind for the next two hours. We just financed a new HVAC system. Bought a new car 6 months ago. Of course, I could look for new work but… it’s not sitting right with me either.
In the first few days applied to about 7 jobs. I didn’t want to do any of them, but some seemed promising. The day I was let go we had been fasting for 12 days (with only 2 days left).
We were heavily praying over our futures and asking God to guide us on why we moved to Texas.
Although it is risky, we have a seemingly small following to pursue content creating full-time… it seems to be the only thing working. I haven’t heard back from the jobs I’ve been applying to and I’m not going to sit in sadness until someone calls. Instead, I’m spending my time pursuing what I actually want to be doing with my time.
So thanks for being here, cause I’m counting on this to work out!
All the best, a very hopeful (new) creator, Marina
